Captivating Colombia: Nemocon Salt Mine
Colour fine art print of the Santa Barbara tank in the Nemocón Salt Mine, Colombia.
The Salt Mine of Nemocón, about 65 km north of Bogotá, has been mined for salt for perhaps 500 years, and since 1801 on an industrial scale. Smaller, and much less well known than the mine at Zipaquirá, it is friendlier and much less crowded but no less spectacular.
80 meters underground lie the settling tanks. Full of saturated salt solution the water lies utterly motionless providing the spectacular reflection seen in this image.
Printed 39 x 26 inches (109 x 65 cm) on Kodak Metallic which, with its rich metallic base, gives the colours a reflective, metallic and three-dimensional feel.
Our fine art printing is performed only by a professional, market-leading, custom printer based in the United Kingdom whose output has been hand checked by us. All paper and processes are of archival quality. Other sizes of prints are available.
